The Essex PB5 has been developed to provide a fast and accurate course to enable runners to set their PB. This came about after years of racing various courses that were undulating, with poor directional marshalling and starting and finishing on grass, thereby preventing runners from achieving their PB. After a fair amount of consultation with elite runners and athletic bodies, we believe we have developed a race that gives you the runner a traffic free course with closed roads that is suitable for this purpose.

With a wide start and a flat well marshalled course, with accurate mile markers, we bring you, the runners, back into a finish on an athletic track. The main purpose of this event is to attract all standards from the occasional jogger to the elite, who will appreciate this opportunity to accurately time their PB, and also to use their running efforts to raise awareness and much needed sponsorship for those in need.
